Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

This could have been an ordinary foyer with a plaster dome, instead it has been opened up to include a dazzling focal point, bringing in day light and refracted light.

Studio Chaos

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

All is well, the 22’dia dome has been disassembled and crated ready to be loaded for its journey down to Utah. Also seen here in the jumble is a dome within a dome, efficiently conserving floor space. In the next while I should have a bunch of new installations to show!

The New Year is Colorful

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

We are building another colorful dome. This is the first panel of a 9′ dia dome, designed by Mark Thompson. The unexpected golden hues in the background are set off by sunlight passing through white opalescent glass. Gentle light modulation throughout the day and season will create an ever changing visual.

Happy New Year! 2012

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

This year is looking to be a big one here at Solarium on the heals of a successful one in which we completed two of our largest projects. Fittingly we celebrated at La Societe, under our ceiling. For some it was the first time they had seen it installed outside of photos, there was a little good natured teasing on who did the best panels. Looks like a tie to me.

From all the staff at Solarium we wish you a Happy New Year!

Lets make 2012 memorable.
