This frame is currently being constructed, to accommodate a square opening with the corners cut out on 45′s.
Here is another example of creating a dynamic shape within an easily framed opening.
This design is classicly Georgian, and the pattern is emphasised with various clear textured glass.

This Racetrack Oval Dome with a Flat Skirt surround demonstrates a way to create a soft radius in a hard lined opening. The design is an interesting combination of geometric repetition and restrained decorative flare emphasised on four compass points with delicate serpentine tendrils.
