A Long-Awaited Installation!

Thursday, October 5th, 2017

We were so happy to get out to Vancouver mid-September for our latest dome installation. We had been working on this project for over a year and were pleased to finally see it installed.

I’m a big fan of behind-the-scenes glimpses, so I thought you might be interested in seeing what goes into securing and setting up these glass beauties. Take a look below:

And the finished product: a stunning, sparkling dome!

Hard Work Pays Off!

Thursday, August 31st, 2017

We have had the privilege of working with a fantastic group of people south of the border for the last year on this project, and it was finally installed this month in New York state!

Working with designer Rob Petrie, we built 12 stained glass windows for a newly built Synagogue. Each window represents one of the tribes of Israel and has corresponding colors and imagery. We started from taking Rob’s sketches and then adapting them so they could be fashioned by glass. Our own glass artist, Robin, spent countless hours making sure the details were just right! We think they turned out beautifully! Check out the windows below, and some close-ups of the painted glass detailing!

More Than Domes!

Friday, August 4th, 2017

On occasion, we have the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind stained glass projects. Curious to know how they come together? Take a look at some photos of our workshop below.

We love when clients become repeat customers! If you remember our masterpiece Muskoka dome, you might recognize the lake & forest theme here. Our clients were in need of some transoms throughout their home to compliment their beautiful dome, and we are happy to oblige!

Here’s a recent install we completed in Mississauga. Twin flat lenses to open up a stairwell!

Here’s a few photos from around the workshop. We certainly are lucky to work in such a unique space filled with inspiring collectables and oddities!

Here's a transom in progress! Waiting for the client to visit to approve glass and bevel choices. This will go over an arched doorway to add some elegance to a home

Titanic-Inspired Dome

Thursday, January 26th, 2017

This Titanic-inspired beauty turned out to be quite a fun but challenging project! Our clients wanted to evoke the elegance of the famous early 20th century dome, but in a unique oval shape. Well, challenge accepted!

Notice the detailing! Spectacular

With a tight slope, this design had to be meticulous. We even curved some of the glass ourselves! The filigree accents, various glass types and beautiful jewelled centre make this a truly tailor-made, custom project, and one we are very proud of!

Put together panel by panel during installation

Bill, always attentive, accompanied this creation all the way to Richmond, Virginia and installed it himself. Parting is such sweet sorrow, but we are so happy that our clients are thrilled! At least we snapped some photos!
